Took the bus from San Jose to the beach town of Quepos. Checked into the hotel which had a nice pool for cooling off. Then out for a seafood dinner.

Went for a morning walk through the downtown, and waited for the Teatro National to open at 9AM. Had a coffee while waiting fir the tour to begin. Got up early, had a wick breakfast at the hostel. Gallo Pinto (rice and beans) with egg and cheese. The grapefruit papaya juice was amazing. Then off for a city walking tour. Barrio Escalante
Walked around the Barrio Escalante neighborhood, which is filled with great little restaurants and craft breweries. San Jose
Arrived in San Jose and checked into our hostel. Clean and comfortable spot within walking distance to downtown and other neighborhoods.

The approximate route we will take through Costa Rica. San Jose – Quepos – Monteverde – La Fortuna – Sarapiqui Rainforest – Tortuguero – Puerto Viejo – and back to San Jose. Then on to Mexico City.
